968 Turbo S & RS

Motorsport Variants

968 Turbo S & Turbo RS

The ultimate evolution of the Porsche 968 platform — developed by Porsche Motorsport as both a homologation special and a full race car. With turbocharged power, lightweight construction, and extremely limited production, the Turbo S and Turbo RS stand as the rarest and most extreme transaxle Porsches ever built.

  • ~14 Turbo S built — road-going homologation cars
  • ~4–5 Turbo RS — full race cars
  • Up to 350+ hp — turbocharged 3.0L inline-4

From Road to Race

1992–1994 · Porsche Motorsport / Weissach

Built to support Porsche’s GT racing efforts, the Turbo RS stripped the 968 down to its essentials, while the Turbo S provided a road-legal counterpart. Both retained the exceptional balance of the transaxle chassis while adding forced induction and race-derived engineering.

Today, these cars represent the absolute peak of front-engined Porsche development — and one of the rarest chapters in Porsche history.
